Roy E. Roush, 84, of Macon, IL passed away on Saturday (June 25, 2011) at Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.

Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday (June 30, 2011) at South Macon Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 Thursday at Macon United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be directed to Macon United Methodist Church. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.

Roy was born on September 20, 1926 in Macon, IL, the son of Harold F. and Lorene (Lancaster) Roush. He worked at A.E. Staley Co. and later started Roush Concrete Co. which he owned for 45 years, retiring in 2005. Roy was a U.S. Navy veteran serving proudly during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post 72 and Macon United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Drum & Bugle Corp. Roy was a fast pitch softball pitcher, a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, and he loved fishing, pheasant hunting, playing cards and auto racing. He married Patti A. Drone on June 8, 1979.

Surviving is his wife: Patti A. Roush of Macon, IL; children: Jane (Don) Baker of Macon, IL, Mike (Rhonda) Roush of Decatur, IL, Sherry (Gary Arnold) Roush of Macon, IL; step-son: Chris Force of Macon, IL; step-daughter: Shelli (John) O’Brien of Taylorville, IL; daughter-in-law: Roxanne Roush of Mt. Zion, IL; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and his coffee drinking, card playing buddies.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Lyle Roush, sister: Marian Stinson, two sons: Steve “Buck” Roush and Stan Roush, great grandchild: Baby Finch.

Roy will always be remembered and will never be forgotten.
